Description
Vintage French porcelain hinged trinket box, made in France, featuring a deep emerald-green ground with ornate gilt decoration and a romantic 18th-century-style courting scene in the manner of Fragonard.
The cylindrical box is fitted with decorative gilt-metal mounts, hinge and clasp, and topped with a sculptural gilt finial. The underside retains its original circular French porcelain mark reading in part “Porcelaine” and “Made in France.”
A classic mid-century French decorative porcelain piece, suitable as a jewelry box, dresser box, bonbonnière or collectible Limoges-style casket.
