Description
Original Penn Central Company common stock certificate for 100 shares, dated July 9, 1970, presented in a wood frame.
This historic certificate dates to one of the most significant periods in American railroad history, shortly after the Penn Central Transportation Company entered bankruptcy in June 1970. The certificate features an engraved railroad and industrial vignette, decorative red border, original printed and facsimile signatures, and certificate number 249507 E.
The reverse contains period brokerage and transfer markings, including a Dean Witter & Co. Incorporated delivery stamp dated July 15, 1970, along with additional transfer stamps and punched cancellation marks.
A distinctive piece of railroad, financial, and American corporate history that displays well and would make an excellent addition to a collection of railroad memorabilia, antique securities, or scripophily.
