Vintage “Flaming Mane” horse-head bust designed by sculptor James Killian Spratt for Austin Productions in 1978.
The dramatic sculpture depicts a powerful horse with its head lowered and mane swept upward in a flowing, windswept composition. Finished in a dark black/bronze tone that emphasizes the muscular modeling and detailed mane.
Signed J. Spratt on the lower rear and impressed Austin Prod. Inc. 1978. Constructed from Austin Productions’ dense cast Durastone/plaster composition rather than solid bronze.
Sculpture shows some small areas of finish loss/chipping around the lower edge, visible in the photos, but the sculpture itself appears structurally intact.
